This site was created to give an in depth knowledge on international and intercultural work in the field of social sciences. My idea for this website came to me after I was searching for some information on the Internet, about intercultural and international work and tools, but did not find a lot of websites with this specific information. I studied Social Work and have lived in Asia (South Korea), where I could see the cultural struggle between the American and ancient Korean culture very clearly. During my time in Korea I also studied the ancient and present culture of Korea, as well as the history of Asia. I plan to include these topics in the website. Furthermore, I am studying MSc in Human Rights and Research Methods in UK, in which I am concentrating on the issue of culture as well as the theory and practice of the implementation of Human Rights in various areas of life and the effect of it to the world.
One of my focuses will be street children and violence, I will publish a recent research done in this area. Another important topic for me is the CRC, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is, so to say, the additional Human Rights codex for children and young people. It was initiated in 1989 and was signed by most countries in the world. Considering that the CRC is already in use for over 20 years, the effect has not been very great, which is why I think it is very important to make the Convention more public and easily accessible as well as other Human Rights treaties, conventions, declarations and covenants.
Furthermore, there is a discussion forum online on this site for each of these topics, also, a great variety on intercultural tools to check out. BUT, firstly, please bear with me a little longer until I get my ‘building site’ completed, which will be midnight (GMT) 10 June 2012.
Thank you for your interest in this Website.
Best Regards
